Pre-K / Early Kindergarten

Our teachers demonstrate care and respect for each child challenging them in ways that help them develop socially, cognitively, physically and spiritually.

Our Pre-K/Early Kindergarten is open for any student who is at least 4 by September 1st. EK meets five days a week, though you can choose morning, half or full day. Every classroom is equipped with learning manipulatives, iPads and other mediums to help engage students and aid in making learning a fun and positive experience.

Social Development

Daily classroom conversations and community-building discussions and explore similarities and differences between children
Instilling manners and cooperation amongst one another, as children learn how to become productive members of a classroom community

Cognitive Development

Focus on letter recognition and sounds through many language opportunities, such as story dictations, reading centers, writing centers, journaling, and letter related games and activities
Focus on putting sounds together to form words, creating blends, reading site words, and eventually begin reading
Focus on making mathematical connections, simple addition and subtraction, and more or less than

Physical Development

Lacing cards, writing and other activities to enhance fine-motor skills, strengthen coordination
Gross-motor skills through running, jumping, and throwing activities

Spiritual Development

Study God’s word through stories, songs, and prayers, and learn that Jesus died for our sins
Focus on developing character by being kind, loving, gentle, forgiving, helpful, honest, and obedient

The use of our Preschool App allows parents and teachers to directly communicate with each other anytime; even during the school day. Teachers also send pictures of your child throughout the day and week, as well as logging the various activities your child is involved in during their day at Turlock Christian.
